Update ...

What I'm Working On Right Now
Well, to be honest? I just got back from one of the hardest, longest slogs of work I've done in living memory. 16 hour days, working until midnight ... flying up to NYC to make a major presentation. That's happened and there's still one or two major elements to close out.

Also? I'm getting a new house--we're trying to close on it mid-November. They say that's stressful and no kidding.

And? My wife is due our second son in February.

WHAT ABOUT JAGS?!?
Well, I just completed most of the non-combat GATs today. I've been making notes on my iPad and finally transcribed them and built them out in the master document. It's looking good--but it's definitely just a first pass and needs some refinement. Still: it's almost done--and it's going to be more useful than the last batch (the JArch1.7 document).

I took a step back and looked at component elements of what I wanted a non-combat archetype Trait to be. There were several elements that needed to be separated and then sold piece-meal so we could get away from "We covered sports heroes and aristocrats--but didn't have anything for famous Astronauts--" or whatever.

I'll try to put more up when I have the chance.

  1. Morning Marco! It's morning here at least. Is there any way I can get in touch with you regarding my writing a novel heavily inspired by your Wonderland material? NaNoWriMo is coming up and Wonderland has been brewing in my subconscious ever since I first read it... You can reach me via my contact details on my blog: zombie-cowboy.blogspot.com.
    Yours faithfully

  2. Hi ZC, you're more than welcome to talk to me here if what you have to say is amenable to public discussion (I suspect talking about Wonderland would be very welcome here by most of our readers). If it needs to be more private in nature let me know and I'll give you my personal email.

  3. Morning again Marco, thanks for the prompt response!
I am taking part in NaNoWriMo this November and I would like to write a novel set in your Wonderland campaign setting. I intend to finish around January next year and would like to make an pdf/e-book freely available. Although the later JAGS rules are under the GNU Open Document License, the Wonderland material is under your copyright and thus my novel would contain copyright material. My knowledge of copyright law is minimal at best, so I figured that my first step would be to approach you.
If this is agreeable to you, I would also like to start an open discussion with you regarding the campaign setting (and my interpretation of it) so that the book remains as true as possible to your vision for the world.
Let me know how you feel about this,
    ZC

  4. Hi ZC,
Only JAGS-2 (the lite-rules) is under the GNU--but that said, so long as the project is non commercial and you give us a credit and link, it's fine!

Go ahead and ask the questions!

  5. Thanks Marco, that's pretty great news. Will of course give you full credit and link, Wonderland is an incredible setting and deserves all the exposure it can get. Would you mind if we move this conversation to email now? I'll probably ask questions as they arise (late at night, while writing) and you can respond at your leisure. If you deem any of them to be of general interest, you can post them here.
If you don't want to post your email in the comments here, just drop me a message via my blog (link above).
    Thanks Marco, truly.
